Privacy Policy — OdooTech Mobile Printer & OdooTech Time App

Introduction

OdooTech LLC provides two business applications:

- OdooTech Mobile Printer: print documents from a customer’s Odoo ERP to Bluetooth printers via Android devices.

- OdooTech Time: time & attendance app that integrates attendance records with the customer’s Odoo ERP.

This Privacy Policy explains what data the apps may access or process, where data is sent and stored, responsibilities of the Odoo ERP customer (controller), and user rights.

Summary

- By default, the apps do not send personal data to OdooTech servers. User and attendance data are transmitted to and stored in the customer’s Odoo ERP instance (self-hosted or Odoo Online).

- OdooTech does not sell or rent personal data. OdooTech processes data only on instructions of the customer (controller) and does not retain personal data except as specified below or under a separate agreement.

What data the apps may access or process

Mobile Printer:

- Bluetooth permission: required to discover and connect to Bluetooth printers. The app uses Bluetooth solely to connect and send print commands; it does not collect personal data or transmit such data to OdooTech servers.

- Print job content originates on the customer’s Odoo ERP and is sent to the selected printer; the app does not upload personal data to OdooTech by default.

Time App (only if enabled by the customer/administrator):

- Attendance records: employee identifier (e.g., employee ID), timestamps (clock-in/clock-out), and session metadata.

- Optional data (only if enabled by the customer and when the user consents to device permissions):

  - GPS location at clock-in/out (for geofencing, compliance).

  - Photos or camera captures (for verification).

  - Device identifiers and app version for diagnostics.

- Crash reports and diagnostic logs: only transmitted with explicit consent or where the customer configures that behavior.

Why data is processed

- Mobile Printer: to enable printing from Odoo ERP to local Bluetooth printers.

- Time App: to record attendance and support payroll, compliance, scheduling, and reporting within the customer’s Odoo ERP.

- Optional features (location, photos) are processed only to provide the enabled verification/geofencing functionality.

Where data is sent and stored

- All user and attendance data are transmitted to and stored in the customer’s Odoo ERP instance (customer acts as controller). OdooTech does not, by default, store customers’ personal data on OdooTech servers.

- When support troubleshooting requires sharing logs or data with OdooTech, this is done only with explicit consent. Any shared data will be processed only for troubleshooting and deleted according to agreed terms.

Legal basis and purpose

- Purposes: app functionality described above.

- Legal basis: processing is necessary for performance of a contract between the organization (employer) and employees and/or for compliance with legal obligations. Where required, the organization will obtain user consent for optional features.

Data sharing and third parties

- Data shared with the customer’s Odoo ERP (primary recipient and controller).

- OdooTech does not sell or rent personal data.

- OdooTech may disclose data to third-party service providers only when required for the app operation and under contract (e.g., optional crash-reporting services) — and only with customer/user consent if applicable.

- OdooTech may disclose data if required by law or legal process.

Data retention

- Retention of personal data is controlled by the customer’s Odoo ERP configuration. OdooTech does not impose retention for data stored in the customer’s ERP.

- Any data temporarily shared with OdooTech for support is retained only as long as necessary for troubleshooting, unless otherwise agreed.

Security

- The apps follow standard platform security practices:

  - Bluetooth communication is limited to pairing and printing.

  - Data transmitted to the Odoo ERP should use the customer’s configured transport (HTTPS recommended).

  - Apps store minimal local data and use secure storage where needed.

- The customer (Odoo ERP owner) is responsible for securing their ERP instance and configuring access controls.

User rights and how to exercise them

- Employees and users should contact their organization (Odoo ERP administrator / employer) to:

  - Access, correct, or request deletion of personal data stored in the Odoo ERP.

  - Request restriction or portability of their data.

- If OdooTech receives personal data in error or with consent to support, contact info@odootech.mn. OdooTech will investigate and coordinate with the customer as appropriate.

Permissions explained

- Bluetooth: required by Mobile Printer to connect to printers (no personal data sent to OdooTech).

- Location / Camera: used by Time App only if the organization enables those features; the app will request permission from the device user and explain the purpose.

Children

- Apps are intended for business use and not directed to children under 16. Organizations using the Time App for minors are responsible for obtaining necessary consents.

Changes to this policy

- This policy may be updated. Changes will be posted on this page and in app release notes when applicable.
